Oils & Ethers

• Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Zeylanicum - Oil of the Bark and leaf)Cinnamon is useful for respiratory tract health, weakness of digestion, and joint mobility issues.
• Geranium (Geranium maculatum - Oil of the flower and leaf)An aromatic oil, geranium is useful for treating skin conditions such as acne, bruises, burns, cuts, and dry skin conditions.
• Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis - Oil from the seed)Long used topically, Jojoba is well known for its properties to promote healthy skin and for healing of sores and wounds. It contains many important nutrients such as vitamin E and B. It's also rich in organic iodine, which is essential to the thyroid gland and functions and to the health of the body.
• Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia (also known as Lavandula. officinalis, spica and vera) - Oil from the flowers)An essential oil, lavender is useful for sunburn, wounds, irritated skin, lice, insect bites, stings, and also acts as an insect repellent.
• Menthol Oil (Mentha piperita - Menthol is derived from Peppermint oil.)Used for its cooling, refreshing affect.

• Turmeric (Curcuma longa - The rhizome)The properties of turmeric include alterative (restores health), antiseptic, relaxant and has cardiovascular properties. It is also a carminative (expels gas) and is a good hepatic herb for the liver. Its vulnerary properties make it good for wound healing. It is also helpful to the digestive system and supports fluid balance.

• Tragacanth (Austragalis gummifer - A white fine powder from the gum)Tragacanth is a gum sourced from dried sap. It provides an emulsifier, thickener and stabiliser and is used as a lotion base and shampoo hair softener.

Seaweeds

• Carrageen (Irish Moss) (Chondrus crispus)Malcolm Harker tonics are unique in that every syrup, elixir and quintessence is created with unprocessed Carrageen seaweed syrup as a base. It gives syrup texture and provides ocean minerals and trace elements (including iodine) to each product. The bromides and halogens within seaweeds represent some of the greatest healing and nutritional elements for the human body. It is this seaweed-nutrient matrix that offers up to 30% of each product's therapeutic properties and efficiency.

• Aloe Vera in carrageen gel (Aloaceae vera - An Aloe Vera imbibed carrageen gel)The gel from Aloe Vera is used as a product base. It has antiseptic and healing properties that make it beneficial for treating a variety of skin complaints.
• Coconut fat (Cocos nucifera - The fat of the coconut meat.)A wonderful skin emollient - coconut fat helps to soften and soothe the skin. It is rich in fatty acids, so it is used as a base ingredient for skin creams. Melted, it is deemed an 'oil'.
• Glucate cream (natural) (A natural, sweet almond oil-based creamy substance.)Glucate cream is used as base ingredient in variety of skin creams. An excellent natural emollient and moisturiser, we have sourced one of the most natural glucates.
• Glycerine (veg) (A sweet tri-atomic alcohol)An organic compound - Glycerine (veg) provides a natural preservative. It is also a nutriment, a solvent (of heavy metals), a bactericide and is hygroscopic - which means that it attracts moisture from the air.
• Lanolin (anhydrous USP) (Lana oleum - Sheeps wool fat)Lanolin is a natural moisturiser and a powerful emollient that soothes the skin. It also has emulsifying properties that retain water and acts as a skin barrier. Lanolin is used as a salve base.
