Uses

565 Calmunurse is a gentle yet potent natural calminative that calms the body to support sleep, and relaxation. The herbs within the tonic are collectively nervous system strengthening, naturally calming, nervous function to help soothe and replenish nervous energy. Excellent for students, it supports restful, deep sleep without side-effects or day-time drowsiness. Very good to take if woken during the night or unable to sleep.

Dietary Advise

Best taken straight or by drops for infants. Can be taken in 50mls of boiled water as a tea.
Avoid - mucus-forming foods such as gluten, egg-white, chocolate, sugar, dairy, polyunsaturated oils, regular salt. Adopt - gluten-free grain foods, whole foods (greens, fruits, nuts, seeds), unprocessed coconut oil, 1022 Celtic & NZ Sea Salt with kelp, oxygen-rich water. For best results use with 825 Intestinal Cleanse for 1 - 2 weeks. Swill prior to swallowing.



 

Precautionary Advise

If on blood-thinning medication lower dose to 1/4 or 1/2.
Shake bottle vigorously prior to each dose. To accustom to product take a ¼ to ½ dose for the first 2 or 3 days. If taking prescribed medication, consult with your Doctor prior to using ‘Malcolm Harker’ herbal tonics. Avoid coffee or tea for ¼ hour before and after dose.

Not to be taken while pregnant or breastfeeding. If taking prescribed medication, we recommend seeking professional medical advice before taking our products. Always read the label and use only as directed.

Oils & Ethers

  • Aniseed (Pimpinella anisum - Oil of the seed)Useful when treating lung and intestinal extension (bloating) concerns, stiff muscles, joint mobility issues, bronchial and digestive issues.
  • Coriander (Coriandrum sativum - Oil of the seed)Coriander is useful for refreshing and uplifting the mind, and helps against mental fatigue, tension and nervous weakness. It has a warming effect on the stomach, relieves wind and cramps, and revitalises the glandular system.
  • Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis - Oil from the seed)Long used topically, Jojoba is well known for its properties to promote healthy skin and for healing of sores and wounds. It contains many important nutrients such as vitamin E and B. It's also rich in organic iodine, which is essential to the thyroid gland and functions and to the health of the body.
  • Orange (Citrus aurantium - Oil from the orange rind)The properties of orange promote feelings of warmth to the mind, acts as a good relaxant and supports sleeping, especially with children. It is useful in treating ills and chills and in the elimination of toxins. Orange helps to balance water retention and manage weight. A lymphatic stimulant, orange balances water processes, detoxifies, boosts the immune system and helps general well-being.
  • Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin (also known as Pogostemon patchouli) - Oil of the resinous gum)Used to supports the body's defences, it supports fluid balance, bowel regularity, cellulite reduction and weight management. Topically, it is a tissue regenerator, assisting the stimulation and growth of new skin cells. A wound healer, it promotes quicker healing and helps to prevent scarring.

Herbs

  • Catnip (Nepeta cataria - The whole herb)Catnip is helpful for supporting temperature balance and bronchial health. As a carminative (prevents/expels gas), a muscle relaxant and a nervine (nerve strengthening), it eases stomach upsets, flatulence and colic. Catnip's relaxing properties also help to calm and reduce nervousness.
  • Cayenne pepper or Chilli (Capsicum minimum - Dried pods)Cayenne supports blood flow and circulation. An aid to digestion, chillies can increase gastric acids that help ensure that there is enough acid to kill most bacteria in food and enable efficient digestion. A stimulant herb, Cayenne relieves pain in external wounds by numbing nerve endings.
  • Chamomile (Roman) (Anthemis nobilus - The flowers)A nervine and hepatic herb, chamomile is useful as a mild relaxant, supports sleep and eases other nervous conditions. It also supports joint mobility and muscle relaxation. Chamomile also has anti-U.V. ray burning properties.
  • Ginger (Zingiber officinalis - The rhizome)This blood herb helps to increase the potency of other herbs. Ginger supports peripheral circulation, normal blood pressure and is useful for relaxing muscles and chilblains. It promotes perspiration and its carminative (prevents/expels gas) properties help to relax the stomach and relieve the feeling of queasiness.
  • Hop flowers (Humulus lupulus - Hop strobules)Nervine (nerve strengthening), sedative, anti-septic and astringent (contracts tissues. It has a significant effect on relaxing the central nervous system, eases stress and worry, restlessness and supports sleep. Hops is also a blood tonic and weight management herb.
  • Horsetail (Equisetum arvense - The whole herb (above ground))Horsetail's properties include acting as an astringent (contracts tissues), supporting fluid balance and a vulnerary (treats wounds). Wonderful for the genito-urinary system, it heals wounds due to its high silicon rich content.
  • Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra - Syrup made from the powdered root)Demulcent (soothing to the membranes), an agent for the adrenal glands, It's a herb that treats the liver, blood and gallbladder, and is useful for bronchial problems.
  • Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora (or galericulata) - Whole herb (above ground))Skullcap is a nervine (nerve tonic) with properties that include muscle relaxant and calming for the nerves). It reduces nervous tension, and strengthens the nervous system and may also be useful in hysterical states or for low mood.
  • St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum - Whole plant (above ground))The properties of St John's Wort include acting as a nervine (nerve strengthening), an astringent (contracts tissues), and a vulnerary (treats wounds). A known nerve herb, it helps in the treatment of worry, stress and tension. It is also a valuable healing lotion when applied externally.
  • Valerian (Valerian officinalis - The root)Calming nervine. Cardiac, liver and nerve herb. One of the most valuable herbals in the Herbalists herbarium.

Seaweeds

  • Carrageen (Irish Moss) (Chondrus crispus)Malcolm Harker tonics are unique in that every syrup, elixir and quintessence is created with unprocessed Carrageen seaweed syrup as a base. It gives syrup texture and provides ocean minerals and trace elements (including iodine) to each product. The bromides and halogens within seaweeds represent some of the greatest healing and nutritional elements for the human body. It is this seaweed-nutrient matrix that offers up to 30% of each product's therapeutic properties and efficiency.
