These easy hot drinks with shots of liquid Vitamin C and Zinc add extra to your wellness routine.
You can burn through these essential nutrients without being rundown or sick as a dog. Stress, poor sleep or a super active lifestyle can all affect the rate at which your body uses up nutrients. Our C+ syrups are a great way to top up while keeping your fluid intake up as well.
Although they're delicious straight from the spoon, you'll also get the therapeutic benefits if they're diluted in herbal teas or smoothies. Here's a few recipes to take your cuppa to the next level!
High heat speeds up oxidation of Vitamin C so let boiling water cool to a comfortable drinking temperature before adding your liquid dose.
Our Citrus Zinger combines fresh lemon and ginger with 650mg of Vitamin C. You get all the anti-oxidants and fast acting immune support
from the vitamin, as well as being a great cleansing combination for the digestive system.

Citrus Zinger
+ Vitamin C 650mg
This is delicious to sip on during the day so we make it in 1 litre batches. Then
it's easy to add Vitamin C and fresh ingredients whenever we pour a fresh cup.
- 100gm sliced ginger
- 2 sliced lemons
- 1 litre water
In a pot, bring ingredients to the boil, cool down to drinkable temperature (around 60 °C). Use as the base for your drink and add to each cup:
- 1 Tsp Harker Herbals Vitamin C
- ½ tsp chopped ginger
- 2 slices of lemon
Our Berry Booster is a warming combo packed with anthocyanins from the concentrated elderberries and black currants. If you're feeling
really unwell, shoot for this.
Black elderberry is one of nature's super immune defenders. Combined with Vitamin C and Zinc, it's a powerful boost for your immune system, especially if you're feeling unwell.
Berry Booster
Elderberry + Vitamin C + Zinc in Blackcurrant
- 1 Tbsp Harker Herbals Elderberry+
- 15ml Barker’s blackcurrant syrup
- 1 cup of warm water (40-60°C)
- 2 slices of lemon
Mix blackcurrant syrup and Elderberry C+ in warm water. Once blended well, add 2 slices of lemon and serve.

To get the added benefits of the antioxidants found in high concentrations in New Zealand black currants, we use a black currant syrup made by a great NZ brand - Barker's (sounds like Harker's)!
Simple Green Smoothie Recipe
If nutrient-rich smoothies are more your thing, try adding a dose of Olive Leaf extract. You'll be specifically supporting your
cardiovascular and immune health. We use our Olive Leaf + syrup which includes 550mg of plant-sourced Vitamin C and our RDI of Zinc.
Concentrated Olive Leaf extract is a great immune booster as well as containing oleuropeins, connected with healthy hearts and cholesterol levels (think Mediterranean diet).

Go Green Smoothie
Olive Leaf + Vitamin C + Zinc
- 1 Tbsp Harker Herbals Olive Leaf +
- 2 cups leafy greens (choose your favourites! We like spinach, kale and romaine lettuce)
- 2 cups of a liquid base such as water, coconut water or almond milk
- 3 cups of ripe fruit (such as banana, berries, avocado, mango, pineapple)
Blend the leafy greens and liquid base together first until smooth. Then add fruit and Olive Leaf + and blend again. Drink immediately or this will keep in the fridge for 24 hours to enjoy later.
Healthy drinks for kids
This fruity punch is a hit with kids visiting our Commercial Bay store. The teaspoon of Children's Immune Build adds a lovely dose of Ashwagandha, Codonopsis, Licorice and Astragalus - all great immune boosters they're unlikely to snack on!
Dilute fruit juices with water before giving to children. While a source of vitamins, fruit juice is high in natural sugar. Dilution reduces the sugar rush and is kinder on teeth.

Go-Go Punch
+ Children's Immune Build
- 1 tsp of Harker Herbals Children’s Immune Build
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup pineapple juice
- 1 Tbsp mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 slices peeled mandarin
- Fresh mint leaves
- 2-3 ice cubes
Mix well and it's ready to serve.
